Urban areas are the places where many modern issues converge. BLOC sees the challenge in this to involve the many stakeholders in an integrated and exciting process and thus accelerate healthy and inclusive area development!

BLOC helps governments and local stakeholders with a new vision of an area or region, an adequate concept and ensures commitment for the development of the area among public, private and social partners.

How we look at areas

The world is in motion and cities are moving along. Because the spatial and social tasks within the city are becoming increasingly complex and diverse, integrated thinking and acting is indispensable. After all, the many developments that bring both opportunities and threats together are not confined to their own boxes. The city does not stand alone either. The dynamics in the region influence inner-city living and working. Issues in the field of climate, infrastructure, demography, economy, leisure, tourism: they come together in the city.

Integrated area development is not only about the topics that are tackled. We include the wide diversity of stakeholders in planning and implementation. We do this by working together in an effective and fun process on a joint vision that does justice to everyone’s interests and accelerates ambitions.

Smart area development must do justice to the ambitions of the users and the developments of our time.

Kinderdijk

We secured the future of this UNESCO World Heritage Site with an area-specific approach. Kinderdijk's new development and exploitation model serves as an example for other (world) heritage sites.

Investment agenda: We provide an approach that leads to concrete assignments and projects, in line with the ambitions of the region and the stakeholders involved. During the process we also ensure that the necessary financial resources are collected so that the implementation is realistic and feasible.
